What is NAMI
National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons living with serious mental illnesses and their families.
NAMI Gainesville is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing education, support, and advocacy with the goal to empower individuals living with mental illness and their families, and to eliminate the stigma associated with mental illness. Elimination of the stigma attached to mental illness is essential to achieve the goals of empowerment, social inclusion, and recovery.
NAMI Gainesville provides support groups, information on resources, advocacy, and free educational programs, such as peer-to-peer or family-to-family programs.
